14 bolt identification help

I just picked up a 14 bolt real cheap this afternoon and was wondering if anybody could tell me what I got. I see lots of references like semi and full floating and dana 60. I am not a truck guy so this stuff is a mystery to me.

Heres what I know about it:

Came out of a 1974 2WD 3/4 ton pickup with a 454
single wheel
3.73
14 bolt
8 lug
casting number - 3977323 with codes CFD and 270 above casting number
Tube code is KHC
Date code (I think) - G2756

Anybody know what I have here and what it might be worth?

Re: 14 bolt identification help

sounds like a generic, run-of-the-mill full floater 14 bolt to me

Re: 14 bolt identification help

Does the cover look like this

If it does its a 14 bolt full floater.I got my 14 bolt out of a single rear wheel 74 C20 and it had 3.73s too.

Re: 14 bolt identification help

Yes, it looks just like that. So what is a Dana 60? Is that yet another rear end GM offered?

Re: 14 bolt identification help

Thanks for the link Rene. I did a search on the web for a guide like that with no matches. I never thought to look here. I guess I need to traverse the site to see what else I am missing out on
